The Tar Heels look to be the clear favorite after defeating Duke for the second time in a month on Sunday. Wake Forest is coming alive again after faltering for many weeks and should push the UNC to the limit.
The ACC hopes to grab six spots for the NCAA tournament and possibly more depending on how bubble teams, Boston College, Miami, Maryland, and Virginia Tech fare in the four-day, loser-go-home tournament.
2009 ACC Conference Tournament
UNC has only lost three games this season, twice in a single week in January against Boston College and Wake Forest. Most recently, they collapsed late in the second half to a fired-up Maryland team. Still, they will gain a number one seed in the NCAA tournament regardless of what occurs in the ACC tournament. Should they lose, they may relinquish the number overall seed to Pittsburgh, but they should still play in Greensboro in the first and second rounds.
