That’s right, when a record stays on the charts for nearly forty years, selling over forty-five million copies, it doesn’t care what you or I think. All the more reason to nominate Pink Floyd’s “Dark Side Of The Moon” as the greatest classic rock album.

From the first heartbeat opening side one, it’s plain that something new is happening here. Recorded in ’72 and ’73 during the “Meddle” tour, “Dark Side” broke out much of the newest technology in store for future times. Multi-track recording, tape loops, as well as the latest in analog synthesizers were the secondary tools used to take this music to the giddy heights. Released smack-dab at the pressure point of the progressive rock movement, this music had something to say to everyone.
