The Basics

Vermont is a rural state, larger only than Wyoming in terms of population. The state lacks a major public transportation network, meaning that a car is your best bet when traveling to and from Vermont. Vermont has a temperate climate with four distinct seasons. Lake Champlain and Burlington

Lake Champlain is one of Vermont’s prime attractions. Bordering New York on the state’s western edge, Lake Champlain offers a plethora of recreational options, including boating, fishing, swimming and sightseeing. Remember to keep an eye out for “Champ,” the resident lake monster! Ferry service on the lake is available for recreational and travel purposes.
