Sefton Park

Historic Sefton Park is in Aigburth, South Liverpool. This green space, once owned by the Earl of Sefton, houses many famous sites including the Palm House. Known for being bombed during the Liverpool Biltz of May 1941 and more recently when in 1992 the “Save the Palm House” campaign was launched. In 2005, the park received £5 million Heritage Lottery funding to initiate a renovation project. The project brought back to life many of the park tired looking features. The park also hosts a number of events during the year including Africa Oye and the Moscow State Circus.

Calderstones Park

Situated on Yew Tree Road Calderstones Park is an oasis of peace and harmony. Children play area opened by Sir Paul McCartney, and dedicated to the late Linda McCartney. In the center of the park is an ornamental gardens. Originally a rose garden, it provides a place for the people to come and absorb the scents of these beautiful surroundings. Other features of the park include The Neolithic Calderstones, art exhibitions and The Bog Garden. Each year a tennis tournament is held on the tennis courts, one of the biggest open grass tournaments in the north of England.
