The company will be showcasing its growing range of career opportunities in tourism and development, with the intention of recruiting the best local talent.
The career options on offer at TDIC range from museum management to architecture, environmental management, project management, hospitality, finance, sales and leasing, and marketing.
TDIC's participation at Tawdheef coincides with the launch of its new automated career section on their website, offering candidates an exceptional job search experience. The dedicated career section will allow candidates to search the company's current vacancies and apply directly.
This comes in time to support TDIC's recruitment efforts, as the organisation expands its scope of work beyond being a master developer to include asset management and operations.
TDIC worked with an agency to create an enticing and content-rich career section that includes interactive features such as email alerts, a live Twitter feed and a quick vacancy search, while also targeting specific candidate groups.
The fully bilingual Arabic and English section presents and educates potential candidates on the different types of roles available, and makes effective use of employee profiles to convey the dynamic environment and experience one can expect when working at TDIC.
Also, to achieve one of the company's major recruitment objectives, there is a dedicated area on the homepage for UAE Nationals, which details the Tamkeen and Tumouh programmes that are aimed at Emirati graduates and professionals.
Sultan Al Mahmood, Executive Director of Strategic Performance, commented, "TDIC's Emiratisation percentage went up to 23% at the end of 2011 and our goal is to continuously increase that number. Therefore, we now aim to attract experienced UAE Nationals and fresh graduates, who are interested to work in TDIC within our projects, so we can enrich their future and develop their career. The Tawdheef Recruitment Show is a great platform to ensure we're visible in the community and that we identify the strongest candidates that will join our company. Further to this, we are very delighted to launch our career website, which will give us an exceptional opportunity to reach out to a wider range of talent and experience that exists out there."
TDIC is committed to Emiratisation and fostering local talent to help enrich Abu Dhabi's future tourism-based economy in line with the Emirate's 2030 vision. It offers a range of opportunities for Emiratis, including two main programmes. The Tamkeen Graduate Programme is designed to help new graduates on their chosen career path, and provides a mix of work experience and robust training programmes. The Tumouh Professional Development Programme is a structured approach to development at an organisational, departmental and personal level. TDIC carefully considers employee's development, by assessing company and individual performance, new business strategies, and training needs.
TDIC will be exhibiting at Tawdheef Abu Dhabi 2012 at ADNEC, from 31st of January to the 2nd of February 2012. The company will also be taking part in a number of university career fairs this year, including the Zayed University Career Fair on the 21st of February 2012, and the High Technology College Career Fair on the 20th of March 2012.
It is always great news when we see that regional tourism cooperation is supported by establishing robust research processes to support sustainable tourism development and enhance cooperation amongst stakeholders.
The most recent example comes from Latin America, where OLACT a not-for-profit organization aiming at fostering cooperation within the Latin-American and Caribbean tourism industry, announced their official cooperation with TCI Research, the market research agency which offers tourism competitive intelligence combining traditional market research and digital data collection.
OLACT is a very promising regional cooperation initiative, aiming to encourage the development of regional cooperation within the Latin American and Caribbean tourism industry, to promote measures to protect the natural, cultural and social environment from the potential negative effects of the industry’s activities, and to improve the quality, supply and promotion of tourism related services. Both organizations aim to work together to increase knowledge and improve decision making in the Latin-America and the Caribbean tourism industry through the statistic tool known as TRAVELSAT Competitive Index©.
TRAVELSAT Competitive Index© benchmarks international tourists’ satisfaction and destination quality in a comparable and standard way supporting tourism governance. This tool is an innovative instrument for all national, regional and local tourism stakeholders to improve their competitiveness and attractiveness in a global and complex international tourism environment.
